A new flagship series from Honor, the highly anticipated Honor Magic8, has taken a significant step toward its launch by passing China’s mandatory 3C certification. The certification listings confirm the existence of three distinct models and reveal key details about their charging capabilities and communication features.
According to the certification data, the series will consist of a standard Honor Magic8, a Pro variant, and a top-tier Ultra model. A standout feature for the higher-end models is the inclusion of BeiDou Satellite Messaging, which will be available on both the Pro and Ultra versions. This technology allows users to send and receive text messages via satellite in areas without traditional cellular coverage, a critical feature for safety and communication during outdoor adventures or emergencies.
The certification also detailed the wired fast charging capabilities for each model:
The Honor Magic8 Pro will support 90W wired fast charging.
The flagship Honor Magic8 Ultra will boast even faster 120W wired charging, promising significantly reduced charging times for its large battery.
While the 3C certification does not disclose full specifications, this information aligns with Honor’s strategy to position the Magic8 series as a top contender in the competitive flagship market. The inclusion of satellite messaging places it in direct competition with other premium phones offering similar services.
the Magic 8 looks much like the Magic 7 and 7 Pro. The phone’s back is flat, rather than having subtle curvature like the previous model, but otherwise things seem familiar. Even the light blue color looks a lot like one of last year’s hues.
The biggest difference is on the phone’s side, where we can see an extra button in addition to the power button and volume rocker. Honor tells me that this is a dedicated AI button, rather than a camera control.
Honor MagicOS 10 will feature deep AI integration, featuring on-device AI models with advanced semantic understanding. In addition, Honor will bring agentic AI features across 3000 scenarios and cover over 100 widely used apps.
